The Benjamin-Sellar Thumezy

The Benjamin-Sellar "Thumezy" has a cutsie name that is often mispronounced. The second line in this ad says "The name tells the story". Obviously, the name is pronounced "thumb-easy".

The thumb lever operates a brake that pushes on the spool. It is a free spool reel. This is an uncommon reel.

This ad is from the May 1913 Field & Stream.

Notes

This reel comes up on eBay now and then. It is hard to find in excellent condition.
