	Brown, Jim, A Treasury of Reels, 2nd printing 2000. Lots of historical information about antique fishing reels in the collection of the American Museum of Fly Fishing.
	Campbell, A. J., Classic & Antique Fly Fishing Tackle, 1997. Some fine information about old time fly tackle manufacturers, including reel makers.
	Carbaugh, Gary & Spurr, Dick, Colorado Reels and old Fishing Tackle, 1994. All those unusual side cast spinning reels, and other things are covered in this book. [Link]
	Kelly, Mary Kefover, U. S. Fishing Rod Patents and Other Tackle, 1990. This book has information for reel collectors as well as about old rods.
	Lawson, Stu, Lawson's Price Guide to Old Fishing Reels, 3rd Edition, 2001. If you need help pricing a reel, this is your guide. [Link]
	Medts, Luc de, Les Moulinets Mitchell, 1999. A very complete examination of this most popular spinning reel. Written in French. [Link]
	Shimomura, Simon, The Ambassadeur and I, 2000. A history of the ABU Ambassadeur casting reel. [Link]
	Vernon, Steven & Stewart, Frank III, Fishing Reel Makers of Kentucky. 1992. The bible for information about these historically important reels and their makers. [Link]
