The River - 2005
 |
I had fished the river for over 45 years and had some
wonderful fishing experience. However, everything changed when I bought
my jet boat. It allowed access to areas of the river I had never fished
before and opened a new world. |
 |
Not only are there lots of fish in the river, but there
is a wide variety of wildlife. Shown here is a beaver that followed my
boat as we floated along. It was lucky that I had Bert the Boykin along
to keep me safe from that maneater. |
 |
The river is filled with smallmouth bass, channel
catfish, and carp. I fish alone most of the time, but occasionally I get
someone else to come for a trip. This is my son with a typical channel
catfish. They are a fun fish, for they hit bass lures, fight hard, and
are good eating. |
 |
This very nice 18" smallmouth was my best river bass in
2005. The rod is a Loomis Bronzeback, the reel a Shimano Conquest 50
with 10 pound Power Pro braided line. The lure is a 4" Yum Dinger fished
on a 1/16 oz jighead. It was caught in July. |
